Bbq Chicken Pizza Recipe

A delicious twist on traditional pizza, this BBQ Chicken Pizza features smoky barbecue sauce, tender chicken, melted cheese, red onions, and fresh cilantro for a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb (450g) Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 ½ cups Cooked chicken breast (shredded or diced)
  • ½ cup + 2 tbsp BBQ sauce (divided)
  • 1 ½ cups Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ cup Red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • as needed Cornmeal or flour (for dusting)
  • to taste Salt & black pepper

Equipment

  • Oven or pizza stone
  • Rolling pin (if making dough from scratch)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet or pizza pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while heating.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Transfer to a cornmeal-dusted baking sheet or pizza peel.
  4. Brush the dough lightly with olive oil.
  5. Spread ½ cup BBQ sauce evenly over the dough.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella cheese, followed by chicken and red onions.
  7. Drizzle remaining 2 tbsp BBQ sauce on top.
  8. Add the rest of the cheese.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  10. Remove from oven and sprinkle with cilantro.
  11. Let cool for 2 minutes, then slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Dough Tip: For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 3-5 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Storage: Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 2 days (reheat in the oven for best texture).
  • Vegetarian Option: Substitute chicken with grilled mushrooms or tofu.
