Ingredients

  • 3 cups  (360g) All-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp (36g) Granulated sugar
  • 12 oz (1½ cups / 355ml) Beer (any kind)

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spatula

Method

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and sugar (and salt, if using).
  3. Add Beer: Pour in the beer and stir with a spatula until just combined (do not overmix—a few lumps are fine).
  4. Transfer to Pan: Scoop the thick batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. (Optional: Drizzle melted butter on top for a crispier crust.)
  5. Bake: Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

✔ Beer Choice: Lighter beers (like lagers) yield a milder flavor, while darker beers (like stouts) add richness.
✔ Storage: Keep wrapped at room temperature for 2 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
✔ Variations: Add shredded cheese, jalapeños, or honey for a twist!
