In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 mins until frothy.
Add melted butter, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Knead for 8–10 mins until smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
Punch down the dough, divide into 12 equal pieces, and roll into balls. Place on a greased tray.
Cover and let rise again for 30–45 mins.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with egg wash (optional).
Bake for 18–20 mins until golden brown.
Let cool slightly before serving.
