Bread Rolls Recipe

These homemade Bread Rolls are soft, buttery, and perfect for dinner, sandwiches, or as a side. Easy to make with simple ingredients, they’ll become a family favorite!

Ingredients
  

  •  (440g) 3 ½ cups  All-purpose flour
  • (240ml) 1 cup Warm milk
  • (50g) ¼ cup Sugar
  • (60g) ¼ cup Butter (melted)
  •  (7g) 2 ¼ tsp Active dry yeast
  • (5g) 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 (optional) Egg (for egg wash)

Equipment

  • Stand mixer (or hand mixing)
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Kitchen towel

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 mins until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Knead for 8–10 mins until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 equal pieces, and roll into balls. Place on a greased tray.
  5. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 mins.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with egg wash (optional).
  7. Bake for 18–20 mins until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer.
  • Substitutes: Milk can be replaced with water or plant-based milk.
