Crispy, golden, and buttery bread sticks that are perfect as a side for soups, salads, or enjoyed on their own! These homemade bread sticks are easy to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) Active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 tbsp Butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour (or skip if using quick method).
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (½-inch thick).
  8. Cut into 12–14 strips and twist each strip gently.
  9. Place on the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  10. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
  11. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Remove from oven and brush with more butter if desired.

Notes

✔ Quick Version: Skip the rise time for a denser but faster bread stick.
✔ Variations: Add sesame seeds, rosemary, or chili flakes for extra flavor.
✔ Storage: Keep in an airtight container for 2–3 days or freeze for longer shelf life.
