Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

These soft, chewy, and perfectly sweet chocolate chip cookies are loaded with gooey chocolate chips and have crispy edges with a tender center. A classic favorite that’s easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients
  

  • 280g 2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
  • 5g 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 5g 1 tsp Salt
  • 225g 1 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 150g ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • 165g ¾ cup Packed brown sugar
  • large 2 Eggs
  • 10ml 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 340g 2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 60g ½ cup Chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Wire cooling rack

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 mins).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
  7. Cover dough and chill for 30-60 mins (optional but enhances flavor & texture).
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  9. Scoop 1.5 tbsp dough per cookie, spacing 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 9-11 mins until edges are golden but centers are soft.
  11. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 mins, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

✔ For extra chewiness, slightly underbake and let them rest on the hot tray.
✔ Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze dough for later.
✔ Variations: Try dark chocolate chunks, sea salt sprinkle, or brown butter for depth.
