- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 mins).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
- Cover dough and chill for 30-60 mins (optional but enhances flavor & texture).
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop 1.5 tbsp dough per cookie, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 mins until edges are golden but centers are soft.
- Let cool on baking sheet for 5 mins, then transfer to a wire rack.

✔ For extra chewiness, slightly underbake and let them rest on the hot tray.
