Ingredients
  

  • 190g 1 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 200g 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 50g ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 5g 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 2.5g ½ tsp Salt
  • 240ml 1 cup Warm water
  • 80ml ⅓ cup Vegetable oil
  • 5ml 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 15ml 1 tbsp White vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

Equipment

  • 9-inch round cake pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Measuring cups/spoons
  • Sieve (for flour/cocoa)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add water, oil, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Whisk until smooth (no lumps).
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Frost (optional) and enjoy!
