Easy Focaccia Bread Recipe

A simple, no-fuss Focaccia Bread recipe with a crispy golden crust, soft & airy interior, and delicious olive oil flavor. Perfect for beginners!

Ingredients
  

  • (500g) 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • (350ml) 1 ½ cups Warm water
  •  (7g) 2 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • ¼ cup 2 tbsp (divided) Olive oil
  • (for topping) ½ tsp Flaky sea salt
  • (chopped) 1 tbsp Fresh rosemary

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix warm wateryeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 mins until frothy.
  2. Add floursalt, and ¼ cup olive oil to the yeast mixture.
  3. Stir until a sticky dough forms (no kneading needed).
  4. Cover with a towel and let rise for 1-2 hours (until doubled).
  5. Line a 9x13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil, then transfer the dough.
  7. Stretch it gently to fit the pan.
  8. Let rise for 20-30 mins.
  9. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  10. Press fingertips into the dough to create dimples.
  11. Drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil, sprinkle salt & rosemary.
  12. Bake for 20-25 mins until golden.
  13. Cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

✅ For extra flavor, add garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, or olives.
✅ Storage: Keep in an airtight container for 2-3 days or freeze for longer.
✅ No yeast? Substitute with 1 tsp baking soda + 1 tsp vinegar (texture may vary).
