  • 115g ½ cup Unsalted butter Softened (or use olive oil for variation)
  • cloves 4 Garlic Minced or pressed
  • 5g 2 Tbsp Fresh parsley Finely chopped (or 1 Tbsp dried)
  • ¼ tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 25g ¼ tsp Parmesan cheese Grated (optional)
  • ½ tsp Red chili flakes Optional for spice

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Pastry brush (optional)
  • Aluminum foil (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat Oven: Set to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Bread: Slice the loaf horizontally or into 1-inch thick pieces without cutting all the way through.
  3. Make Garlic Butter: In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and chili flakes (if using).
  4. Spread Butter: Generously coat the bread crevices or slices with the garlic butter using a spoon or pastry brush.
  5. Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top.
  6. Bake: Wrap in foil (for softer bread) or place directly on a baking sheet (for crispier edges). Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
  7. Broil (Optional): For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
  8. Serve: Garnish with extra parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for 1–2 days. Reheat in the oven.
  • Variations:
    • Add mozzarella or cheddar for cheesy garlic bread.
    • Use garlic powder (1 tsp) if fresh garlic isn’t available.
    • For vegan garlic bread, substitute butter with olive oil or vegan butter.
