Ingredients
  

  • White or yellow cake mix 1 box 15.25 oz
  • Water 1 cup
  • Vegetable oil ½ cup
  • Eggs 3 large
  • Jello mix any flavor 1 box (3 oz)
  • Boiling water 1 cup
  • Cold water ½ cup
  • Whipped topping Cool Whip 8 oz

  • 9x13-inch baking pan, mixing bowls, whisk, toothpick

Method
 

  1. Bake the Cake:
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Prepare cake mix with water, oil, and eggs as directed on the box.
  4. Pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let cake cool for 15 minutes.
  6. Prepare the Jello:
  7. Dissolve Jello powder in 1 cup boiling water, then stir in ½ cup cold water.
  8. Poke the Cake:
  9. Use a fork or skewer to poke holes all over the warm cake (about ½-inch apart).
  10. Slowly pour Jello mixture over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
  11. Chill & Top:
  12. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours (or overnight).
  13. Spread whipped topping over the cake before serving.

Notes

Flavor Variations: Try strawberry, lime, or blue raspberry Jello for different colors.
Make Ahead: Assemble 1 day in advance for easier serving.
Substitutions: Use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip.
