Sauté the Meat: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sausage (or ground beef) and cook until browned. Remove excess fat if needed.
Add Aromatics: Stir in onion, garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
Tomato Base: Mix in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and broth. Bring to a boil.
Cook Noodles: Add broken lasagne noodles and simmer for 10–12 minutes until tender.
Finish with Cream & Cheese: Reduce heat, stir in heavy cream (if using), then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan. Let melt slightly.
Season & Serve: Adjust salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh basil and extra cheese.
