Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 cups Quick oats (or old-fashioned oats)
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup M&M’s (plus extra for topping)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper or silicone mats
  • Measuring cups/spoons
  • Cookie scoop (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in baking soda, salt, oats, and flour until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips and M&M’s.
  6. Drop 2-tablespoon-sized dough balls onto baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Press a few extra M&M’s on top for color.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
  • Variations: Swap M&M’s for Reese’s Pieces or use white chocolate chips instead.
  • Gluten-Free Option: Use gluten-free oats and a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
