Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm water (110°F) Must be 110°F for yeast activation
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin preferred
  • 1 tsp Sugar Helps yeast bloom
  • 1 tsp Salt Fine sea salt or kosher salt
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour Spooned & leveled
  • 1 tsp Active dry yeast Or bread machine yeast

Equipment

  •  Bread machine
  • Rolling Pin
  • pizza stone

Method

  1. Insert the kneading paddle into your bread machine pan.
  2. Pour warm water and olive oil into the pan.
  3. Add sugar and salt, then gently sprinkle the flour on top.
  4. Make a small well in the flour and add yeast (keeps it dry until mixing starts).
  5. Choose the "Dough" setting (typically 90 mins). The machine will knead, rest, and rise the dough automatically.
  6. After 5 minutes of kneading, peek at the dough. It should form a smooth ball. If too sticky, add 1 tbsp flour; if too dry, add 1 tbsp water.
  7. Once the cycle ends, the dough should be doubled in size (if not, let it rest 10 more minutes in the warm machine).
  8. Transfer dough to a floured surface, divide into 2 balls, and cover with a damp towel. Rest for 10 minutes (for easier stretching).
  9. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone/steel (or inverted baking sheet) for 30+ minutes.
  10. Roll out dough, add toppings, and bake for 12-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

✔ Crispier Crust: Par-bake the dough for 3 minutes before adding toppings.
✔ Whole Wheat Version: Replace 1 cup all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour + 2 tbsp extra water.
✔ Freeze for Later: Wrap dough balls in plastic and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
✔ No Bread Machine? Mix ingredients in a bowl, knead 5 mins, and let rise 1 hour in a warm place.
