Simple Cake Recipe

A classic, easy-to-make vanilla cake that’s soft, fluffy, and perfect for any occasion. Ideal for beginners!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cups 150g All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp 5g Baking powder
  • ¼ tsp 1g Salt
  • ½ cup 115g Unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup 150g Granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp 120ml Vanilla extract
  • ½ cup 5ml Milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch cake pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift flourbaking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy (2–3 mins). Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding the dry mix and milk to the butter mixture (start/end with dry mix).
  5. Pour batter into the pan. Bake 25–30 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for 10 mins, then transfer to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar or frost as desired.

Notes

  • Variations: Add lemon zest or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For Fluffier Cake: Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature.
