Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat butter, ½ cup powdered sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Gradually mix in flour, salt, and chopped nuts until dough comes together.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until bottoms are lightly golden (tops should stay pale).
Let cookies cool for 5 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar while warm.
Once fully cooled, roll them again for a snowy finish.
