Ingredients

  • 1 cup Hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot or Texas Pete)
  • 3 tbsp Brown sugar (or honey)
  • 2 tbsp Butter (or oil for vegan option)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Blender or immersion blender (optional, for smoother texture)
  • Glass jar or squeeze bottle for storage

Method

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, onion powder, black pepper, and chili flakes. Whisk until combined.
  3. Pour in the hot sauce and whisk well.
  4. Simmer for 5–7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  5. For a smoother consistency, transfer to a blender and pulse briefly.
  6. Let the sauce cool before transferring to a jar or squeeze bottle.
  7. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Heat Level: Adjust cayenne and chili flakes to control spiciness.
  • Vegan Option: Use oil instead of butter and maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Uses: Great for chicken tenders, sandwiches, burgers, or even as a dip.
